How to: Install a New FlatPress Theme

avatar_000027.jpg
FlatPress comes with two blog site themes leggero and flatmaas2. For additional themes, visit these two sites. The FlatPress wiki site is the most active site offering themes for both v.8 and v.7 of FlatPress. A theme showcase site offers themes for v7. Some fans of FlatPress offer alternative download locations which are listed at the bottom of this post.

FlatPress version 8 blogs should use themes developed for v8. Version 7 themes do not display the properly in v8. The wiki site offers both v8 and v7 themes with the latest themes listed first. All these themes are created by fans of FlatPress, many are conversions of Wordpress themes. To contact the authors of these themes, I would recommend first trying FlatPress forum category “Themes and Styles”.

If you are looking for additional v7 themes, try the showcase theme site. Besides offering additional v7 themes, it allows you to switch the theme being used on its site allowing you to view how they look.

When choosing a theme, pick one that is compatible for the version of FlatPress you are running. To get your FlatPress version number, click Admin Panel > Maintain > Check for updates.
